Food was really delicious and the waitstaff was awesome. Everyone was so friendly and made sure that we were being taken care of. I was so stuffed by the time we left! I would definitely eat here again.

Stunned at how horrible the service was. My husband and I used to go to the one on St. Johns and never had a complaint. But I think their new location is something they maybe did not plan for very well. 1. We walked in the door and saw there were a lot of people waiting so we asked the hostess how long a wait for 2 would be. Her response was "Oh, like a awhile hehehe." And that was it. We thought it was going to be a 2hr wait. I had to ask her exactly how long the wait would be. She said "Like 15-20 minutes." Oh my goodness, I can wait 15-20 minutes!! Hell I could have waited 30 minutes. News flash: Telling your guests "awhile" is the equivalent of "Please take your money elsewhere." 2. The hostess walked away and this woman appeared. I told her I wanted to put our name down on the wait list . She stated they did not have one, but that the hostess remembers what order people come in. Really?! You mean the same hostess who can't read a clock? 3. When they were ready to seat us, the lady walked us to a booth and as she walked us to the booth, she asked another couple if they'd like to be seated as well. So she brings us both to 2 booths and then asks which one we wanted. Both were dirty so not much of a decision. She informed us someone would come by to clean it. 4. When someone did come by, she had a handful of napkins and silverware. When she saw the table needed to be wiped down, she turned around and placed the silverware (I presume she was going to give us) on a barstool that I had just watched someone get off of. Needless to say that was the last straw. We got up and walked out. As we walked out, the hostess who can't read a clock said "Have a good night!" How about stop people and ask why we are leaving and what you can do to make the service better. I hope the improve. If not I don't see them lasting long out here.

I really had high hopes for the new location. All they did was make the location bigger and lowered the quality. I use to take my wife to the one on St. John's on special occasions. I really enjoyed the service and meat selection at the old location. The new place however serves bland, bloody, low quality meat. The salad bar looked like everything came out of a can. Please fix this before someone else opens a Brazilian steakhouse and takes all your business.

Phenomenal Brazilian fare. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive. Enjoyed a Malbec with filet mignon, lamb, chicken, roast beef... The ice cream chocolate merengue cake was divine. Order it only if you're prepared for a food-gasm.

Espeto was my first experience eating at a Brazilian steakhouse. I have always been a little leery because I hate buffets. I thought this would be more like a fancy Golden Corral, and that's just not my scene. I couldn't have been more wrong. Espeto is a fine a restaurant as there is in Jacksonville. It is quiet and romantic. Every time I went to the salad bar, I was the only one there, yet the restaurant was packed. The items were fresh and original. The sautéed eggplant and mushrooms were to die for. Other times included artichokes, blanched carrots, freshly roasted beets, feta cheese, and green beans. I didn't try any of the items on the hot side, but everything looked delicious. (Except the rolls, not sure why.) As for the meats, they were exceptional. We tried everything and I wasn't disappointed with a single item. Next time I will focus more on my favorites: lamb, beef ribs, garlic sirloin, and filet minion, but literally everything was delicious. Preferring an out of the way table, we sat in a booth on the bar side. I was a little nervous that our goucho service (the gentlemen serving the meats) would be lacking, but again I was wrong. Our waiter and all the gouchos were attentive and helpful. If we wanted more of an item we simply asked for it and it was brought out immediately. Our waiter was certainly not a trained sommelier, but he had obviously tasted most of their wine offerings. He was able to describe the wine clearly and guide us to an excellent bottle. The prices on the wine were very reasonable. To conclude our meal we had the sample of 5 of their most popular desserts. All were creative and beautifully presented. My favorite was the ice cream with caramelized bananas. Please ignore the two negative reviews posted and try Espeto. We did and we are going back this weekend with out of town guests! See you there!

Definitely an excellent atmosphere and great food. This new restaurant is unique for Jacksonville and has a great vibe, a sure place to frequent!

Authentic Brazilian restaurant. The food was amazing, especially all of the different kinds of meat. The salad bar was a nice compliment to the rest of the meal. The service was great too. Kid friendly for sure. Great for families on vacation or a special occasion. Hope to return soon!

An absolute wonderful experience from the moment I walked through the door! Delicious food, friendly staff, and a most terrific and personable owner and his wife who made me feel like a superstar! I highly recommend this awesome eatery! I can't wait to return!

Brazilian steakhouses are my favorite lavish meal going experiences, although this one is disappointing. The meat comes slower than normal, the slices are thin, they are less likely to cook the meat to your liking, and it just wasn't nearly as good as Fogo de Chao, Texas de Brazil, or Chamagauchos. The salad bar is smaller, though everything was the same price. The martinis were excellent. The waitress didn't know what a caiperina (sp?) was, which is a staple of Brazilian steakhouses. It's decent. If you have never gone to a Brazilian steakhouse, it's still a good experience.

I have friends that lives in JAX that I visit often. It's become a tradition that they drive straight to Espeto's without even bothering to ask. Almost every time I'm in town, we stop in. On the rare occasions we can't make it, it feels like incomplete trip. The food: well, it's a Brazilian steakhouse but you probably knew that already. For the less informed, that means you get all you can eat. It also means the meat is brought out on "spears" and carved with "swords". Not technically but the kids won't know the difference and it's just about as cool. You are given a green and a red placard. Green is the international sign for go. The gaochos keep bringing food until you tag out with the red. At which point, you merely receive food a little slower. Being full is no reason not to get a sliver of rib eye while your friends are still loading up. It would be bad form to stop now. There are several meats offered. The usual suspects; beef, pork, chicken. Several different cuts of beef. Sausages. And even salmon. I'm not a fish eater so can't comment other than it looks good. The salad bar is on the smaller side but that's a Good thing. Everything is fresh. Everything is outstanding. If you want 600 items go to Golden Coral. The desserts are top shelf too. Atmosphere: I will be checking out the new location this weekend. I will update later. Service: we have NEVER had to wait more than 5 minutes and we are never a small party. Rosane, the owner comes running personally as soon as she knows we are there. Even when she doesn't seat us, the staff is prompt. Depending on the night and business, it may take awhile for your favorite meat to make its way back around again. The simple solution is to try something else. It's all great. Or you could simply ask. The gauchos are always eager to please. Price: well, it is all you can eat and mostly meats so it isn't cheap. That said, it's worth every penny. I've been to Fogo De Chao. Once, just once. Higher priced, cramped/crowded, noisy, and nowhere near as good. Atmosphere/Location: Sadly, not as cozy as the old place. But much larger and better for business in the new spot. On the plus side, the bar is much larger, more open. The martinis are pretty good too. As for the sneeze guard comment by the other guy, he must be 7'8" for it to be in his way. I'm 6'2" and had no trouble reaching under it. Another plus for the new location is the private room so if you show up with a herd of kids, ask to sit back there so they don't annoy everyone else. Or if your party is large enough you can get 37 of those martinis and dance on the tables. The kitchen has a large window so you can see the entire kitchen for those so inclined.

I gave them a second chance, but ended up disappointed again. It felt like the only meats the serve you is chicken and not very good. Since the price is the same as the average Brazilian restaurant I expected decent meats, but they did not deliver. Never again.

Phenomenal service meat was delicious but the hot bar needs more of a variety. The mash potatoes were loaded with garlic and tasted instant.

I honestly expected something a bit "more"... a bit more swankier, a bit more options, and a bit more service. The overall experience was more akin to a cafeteria than an upscale restaurant. Food was o.k., though other than the meat portion of the meal, everything else was lackluster in diversity. As for the main reason for going, the various meats, they were in general good, though many were cooked medium well to well done, and it was difficult ever getting any steak medium rare to rare. I will say they did come around with the portions very timely, however our waitress was less than attentive. After ordering a drink I waited 20 minutes for her to return, only to watch her go all over the room taking pictures for other tables and bringing drinks to other tables. I finally lost patience and ended up calling another server over to assist (which she did promptly). Our original waitress eventually returned to closeout our tab, but did not acknowledge she never fulfilled my drink order. Not a good first impression, and likely it will be my last for this establishment.

Absolutely fantastic! My first experience at this Brazilian Buffet! It did not disappoint! At first the meat portions seemed small, but that was just so you can try every different meat available. The salad bar and hot sides were also impressive. Did not disappoint and will go again!

While in town for a few days on business, we decided to give Espeto a try and what a great choice that turned out to be! Based on the reviews here, we made a reservation for 6:30 and when we arrived we were seated immediately. There were few diners there at that time but it changed quickly. We started with the salad bar which had a unique mix of familiar items and things I had never seen on a salad bar before. The eggplant was delicious and the cheese was great too. The hot sides were nothing spectacular but they complimented the meats well. The meats were outstanding! Especially the beef (the sirloin and the ribs in particular) and chicken. The lamb was interesting but not my favorite. It has a strong flavor that reminded me of venison. Still it was worth a try. The wine list was adequate, we chose a Malbec to have with dinner and ended the meal with a couple of different ports (the traditional end to this type of meal in South America). The owner noticed that we had ordered the ports and came to our table to visit. She and my husband began talking about the port and she suggested we try a complimentary comanderia (port made from figs) which goes back to Papel times. My husband was thrilled that they carried it as its not a common find when dining out. We shifted over to the bar to enjoy the music, they had a great jazz duo playing. It was a wonderful evening from start to finish. Final tip, don't go to a Brazilian steakhouse if you are in a rush. It is an experience to be savored slowly. You can take a break from the food at any point but resume whenever you are ready. In our hurry up society, this is a very pleasant change. We will definitely return every time we are in JAX.

Great service, nice atmosphere, and wonderful meat! The servers are very polite and personable. The business owner greeted everyone's table. The cold bar/salad bar had everything I ever loved in a salad! The hot bar was good not excellent. Lobster bisque soup is good. The meat was all seasoned and flavorful! We thought we could eat more but we just couldn't. It's worth every penny!

I love this place -- the service is always quick and the food is great. They've only been open a couple months, and already you need reservations on the weekend (note to a previous reviewer who complained about the wait -- I was actually there when you came in and caused that little huffy scene: next time, a reservation might be a good idea). They have a great bar with a bar-sized menu, and their full-service is available in this area also. The salad bar isn't the largest, and that's a plus; you're not there for salad, are you? Everything is fresh, tasty, and well presented. A private dining room seats around 40 and is great for special events. Lots of parking also. Good food, good service, and good people.

I travel and go to a lot of Brazilian steakhouses. This was by far the worst one I have ever been to. You may have gone to Texas de Brazil or a Fago de chao. This is nothing like it. But the price is the same. This blows my mind. They do not have lamb chops. The food is extremely slow to come out. The quality of the food and the flavor does not compare to any of the above mentioned establishments. The salad bar is small and sparse compared to most places that I have seen. Lobster bisque was empty for half the time we were there. The sneeze guard was so poorly placed that it was like a Charlie Chaplin movie when you attempted to use the ladle. The food was below average at best. I would not recommend this place. Again, for the price this place is garbage. Stay away. Much better options around the area. Service was average not many Gauchos for the number of tables. The meat was not cooked evenly it was pot luck every time you are served.
